Tolland Lacrosse Club is a member club of USA Lacrosse. Our Boys' teams are additionally members of Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse (CVYL). As such, our boys' programs follow the rules and development guidelines of USA Lacrosse and CVYL.

The primary season for lacrosse is in the spring and typically runs from late March or early April through June. In addition to the spring season, some summer and fall programs are also available for Bantam, Junior and Senior lacrosse.

Our team placement aligns with USA Lacrosse age grouping guidelines (, placing boys within the following teams:

TLC Team  USL age bracket

Lightning - 8U*

Bantam - 10U

Juniors - 12U

Seniors - 14U**

*TLC Lightning players are typically in 1st and 2nd grade and fall within the USL 8U grouping. Some players who are 6U by USL age grouping may be permitted to participate.

**Seniors may also include 8th grade boys who are outside of the USL 14U age range.

Boys Lightning Lacrosse

The Tolland Lightning Lacrosse Program is designed to introduce newer players to the sport of lacrosse in a fun environment that focuses on the development of fundamental lacrosse skills and teamwork. We use age appropriate drills and games in an effort to teach players how to scoop through and pick up ground balls, pass, catch and shoot.  As our players develop their skills, we scrimmage within our team and play friendly games with other Lightning Programs.

The season will begin in late March or early April, depending upon the weather, and will conclude in the middle of June. The Lightning team will meet twice a week; one weeknight for practice and one weekend day for either a game or practice.  The team will likely play a total of 6-8 games over the course of the season. There is some travel involved with the Lightning Program as we do play games with other Lightning Programs in our area.

Boys Bantam, Junior & Senior Lacrosse

Boys Bantam, Junior and Seniors teams are considered travel teams, with Bantam traveling somewhat less through Seniors traveling somewhat more. Depending on the number of registrants, boys playing in Juniors and Seniors will be placed on A and B teams based on skill level.

In the Spring season, Bantam, Junior and Senior teams typically practice 2 times per week, with one or two games per week.

Our club fields players from Tolland, CT as well as from local area towns that do not have a youth lacrosse program.
